2007 - 2009 Nissan Micra
Nissan Micra 2008
Nissan’s third generation Micra is a cute-as-a-button five-door hatchback with its big but gorgeous headlights and cute curves, and comes in a range of bright pastel colours, including the popular ‘Paris Blue’ (moreso a light aqua).
The zippy automatic 1.4 litre petrol engine is very economical that can take you to the local shops to get milk, but also comfortably and reliably endure the long daily commute to work and back. A full tank only costs around $40.
The Micra is small enough to fit in the tiniest of parking spots, yet big enough to comfortably sit four people (and maybe a small fifth person) with its ample rear seat space and have enough boot space for a single person.
One of the unique aspects is the driver’s seat arm rest, which can fold away. This surprising inclusion is more common in more expensive cars. You will find yourself fighting for it with the front seat passenger. Another unique aspect is the secret sliding storage compartment under the front passenger seat, which can comfortably fit a pair of high heels or a variety of small to medium sized possessions.
Similar Nissan Micras are selling for around $5,000-6,000, while those with less kilometres going for more around the $8,000-9,000 price point.
